The scent of popcorn and cookies filling the air from this cozy ice cream parlor, nestled just off the famed Fort Lauderdale strip, immediately draws you in. With plenty of outdoor seating on the patio, you can easily sneak glimpses of freshly baked cookies and chocolate-covered popcorn through the large glass windows, making it hard to resist stepping inside. After a couple of beers and before dinner, I decided to satisfy my sweet tooth and try the ice cream. The friendly sole employee recommended two flavors that overly excite customers. The Cookies & Cream was delightfully creamy, but it was the Popcorn Ice Cream that truly stole the show. Its flavor was strikingly authentic, almost like a scoop of freshly popped popcorn transformed into a cool, creamy treat. The sweet and savory contrast was a revelation, and I couldn't help but wonder how they captured that popcorn essence so perfectly. Pricing for the ice cream sundaes was determined by weight at .99 a pound with a plethora of topping options offered. This place definitely was a cool attraction and pit stop during my pub crawl and is highly recommended - strong 4.5 stars here.
Yo Mamas Ice cream is one of my favorite ice cream spots in Fort Lauderdale. Their ice cream is just good and their popcorn made fresh is even better. When you walk in, you can smell the goodness in the air. Yo mama is across from fort lauderdale beach and next to Parrot Lounge. Their cones are made fresh and toppings are plenty but charged by the weight so it could get pricey depending on what you get.
First, this place smells so good. It is hard to decide what to get as everything looks and smells amazing. They have so many choice of ice cream and they are happy to do samples. They have a build your own Sunday bar too. It is awesome. Friendly staff and highly recommend!
I've been coming here for years and I've never been disappointed. Yes, the prices are a little high, but it's near the beach so everything here is stupidly expensive. But the ice cream is awesome. My last visit I was working and I didn't want to make the usual mess out of my shirt, so I had them make it into a milk shake. Pricey, but delicious. And they use fat straws so the mint chocolate chip ice cream doesn't get stuck. Next time I might do the butter pecan and see how that fits up the straw. I'll be coming back here again. I usually make it every few months.
Kat took our order and was amazing! She not only was friendly but she also gave us some amazing places to go eat afterwards. We had been at parrot lounge and were treated horrible and she totally turned it around for us! If we could give her 27 stars we would (little inside joke of the day) Definitely recommend this place and the people!
